If you work or live in the Hackensack River Watershed, please join us December 18 from 3 to 4:30 for a special gathering of the Hackensack River Nation Council in Hackensack (and online).
New Jersey’s green infrastructure guru, Dr. Chris Obropta of the Rutgers Water Resources Program, will give insights on the stormwater management plans that all municipalities are required to complete in the next three years. His tips can help our towns complete better plans to protect our environment.
You will also get updates on the Hackensack River Nation Summit – a gathering of environmental leaders, at FDU in Teaneck on February 25.
The Hackensack River watershed covers most of Hudson County and the eastern half of Bergen County (as well as the southern part of Rockland County).
Hackensack River Nation Council is an alliance of representatives from environmental organizations, public agencies, and eco-friendly businesses working to protect the Hackensack River Watershed and connect more people in the region with the river and its waterways. There is no cost to join; we invite you to be part of the alliance.
Hackensack River Nation is coordinated by Northern New Jersey Community Foundation, which works to promote greener and healthier communities throughout North Jersey. If you have any questions about this program, please contact NNJCF Executive Director Leo Vazquez at leo@nnjcf.org or 201-568-5608, x2.
